  3. OSCAR DE LA RENTA striped feather sweater
  4. Christian Louboutin kashou ruched pump

Clothing ETC.

The MUST list

It’s March and I can almost see Spring on the horizon! Every magazine and store is filled with lovely Spring clothes, shoes and bags with fun prints and bright colors.

Here in Michigan it’s still very cold and snowing, and my Bump is as big as big can be. As its getting closer to my due date, this WON’T stop me from thinking about my Spring closet post-baby. So, here it is, my wish list for my closet:

must all

  1. Nanette Lepore One Piece Swimsuit
  2. Tibi embroidered silk-faille top
  3. AG 19 Years break me down skinny jeans
  4.  J Crew necklace
  5. Illesteva sunglasses
  6. Valentino Rockstud PVC thong sandal
  7. MARC BY MARC JACOBS Luna studded bucket shoulder bag

An afternoon delight

Sometimes, I wish I could live in “Downton Abby” days – having afternoon tea, eating on fine china while dressed in ball gowns. Then, I remember how much I love my espresso machine and amazon prime.

So, I decided to take out the fine china and macaroons and have an afternoon tea.

I made cucumber sandwiches with ricotta cheese and dill, mini puff pastry rounds with goat cheese and balsamic reduction and of course macaroons (that I did not make. I am not that ambitious).  To decorate the table I used  mini Gerber daisies that I found at a local flower shop and mini fabric flags I ordered from Etsy.

The china, silverware and crystal glasses are all family heirloom. They belonged to my husband’s grandmother. I never met her, but always heard the stories of how much she loved to entertain and have family and friends over. I’m honored to have some of her treasured dishes and I love the idea that we are keeping her tradition alive (with some modern twists).

Afternoon tea was simple, elegant and full of fun. Perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Gearing up for Spring

Spring is FINALLY here!

After months of wearing Uggs and a parka I can finally wear a jacket and accessorize with jewelry instead of cashmere scarves. The last few weeks, I have been busy cleaning up my closet, dusting all my spring flats and reorganizing my jewelry. I took a good look and came up with a list of add-on’s for this upcoming season. Then, I went shopping.

I decided to jump on the espadrille’s bandwagon and purchase a pair. I chose the Chanel black and white leather one, so it will transition to fall as well. For jewelry, I went to my favorite place: J Crew. I think that during the last two years they’ve really stepped up their game. The jewelry line is exciting, unique and affordable.

The pieces below are my go-to jewelry for this Spring/Summer season. They work well and complement every outfit from casual to dressy. They also hit the mark in terms of trends – a little bit of neon, white and boho chic.

Last but not least, fun Essie nail polish colors and my must-have L’Occitane hand cream and Smith’s Minted Rose lip balm.

My latest J Crew purchases:

I found this necklace at my nail salon. It’s by Ettika. Ettika’s designers  Ettie Rafaeli and Joey Rafaeli feed their design drive with inspirations from living the sunny Los Angeles California lifestyle.

Essie colors: “russian roulette”, “too too hot”, “boat house” and “orange, it’s obvious!”. Also, after this winter I’m using “grow stronger” base and “no chips ahead” top coat

A few weeks ago, I took a good look at my husband’s closet. One thing was very clear, he was seriously lacking in the “cool sneakers department”. Luckily, we were heading to New York for Spring break.

I didn’t really have any specific idea about what we should buy, but I knew the shoe had to have a “kick” to it. Also, I wanted something that will transition from season to season and from dressy attire to more casual attire. J’s only requirement was that we will buy on pair of “Cole Haan” which is his favorite travel/work/casual shoe. We bought all the “Lanvin” pairs at a ample sale, so I couldn’t resist and picked out a pair for me as well.

Take a look at our new sneakers and tell me what are your “cool” shoes?

11 Things that have me excited about Spring

I am back home in snowy Michigan after 4 weeks in the warm weather of Tel Aviv. Unfortunately, Spring is nowhere to be found. So, in order to cheer myself up, I compiled a list of 11 things that have me excited about Spring. Things that make me think of beautiful Spring days, fresh flowers and sandals, going to the Farmer’s Market and cooking fresh picked vegetables, planting my garden again so that we’ll have an abundance of flowers with bursting colors.

I also started working on my Spring/Summer wardrobe, or as my husband calls it “who buys bathing suits in February?!”, but that is a subject for a different post…
