Midnight Blue

On Monday my sweet daughter inquired  about my favorite color. I actually had to stop and think about this, there was no obvious answer! Nothing jumped out right away. She obviously thought it was odd since she immediately replayed that her’s are purple and pink – surprise, surprise.

So, I thought some more and realized my favorite colors are (once again, surprise, surprise!) gray and blue. Needless to say she DID NOT like my answer. I tried to explain to her that when you grow up your taste changes and that I liked purple once too. She just looked at me and walked away.

This is my favorite blue outfit that works really well with the bump. The dress is by Vince and was purchased three years ago. I always wear it as a tunic with a vest or a chunky sweater for a more boho-chic look. Try something bold and wintery over a sleek dress today…you might love it and you will look chic.

The Perfect Wardrobe – Part 2

I can’t resist posting another example of one of my favorite outfits using the usual suspects. The only new item in this outfit is a pair of fabulous earrings which I purchased last April. The faux leather leggings I’m wearing are Club Monaco (this pair is 3 years old). I love them so much that I own three pairs! They are super comfortable, look amazing day or night, and look like the real deal! They cost only 149$ and not 700$ and are machine washable.

My Maje coat, the beaded tunic and Mulberry bag were purchased in Paris two years ago. They were all great buys during the after-Christmas sales. You must check out Maje: it is definitely one of my favorite brands! Their cloths are well made and add a major WOW factor to any outfit. I wear this look in the Spring and in the Fall. You can never go wrong with black!

Something White, something Red, something Blue

4th of July is here. In between running around with the girls from one activity to another, the holiday just arrived.  I can’t believe how fast summer is going. It’s the time of year of going from one BBQ to another, from the beach to the pool.

I know the web is full of 4th of July idea boards, but still I had to create my own chic version for the long weekend. I just love Prada’s take on the stud trend. The shoes are subtle and cool, and the sunglasses are just pure fun! J Brand always offer the most beautiful minimalist garments that just look and feel fabulous. The jeans with the camisole, shoes, sunglasses and clutch just make the perfect outfit.  Effortless chic for the Holiday weekend! I found the recipes at MarthaStewart.com and I can hardly wait and try them out.

Eat, drink, be happy and safe!
XOXO,
Shani

My fall “must have” list

Every year in August I start to plan my fall wardrobe. The reason I start this post with that declaration is because I am not a random shopper.

I buy all the fashion magazines, I surf the web and I comprise a “must have” list of fall essentials. After I have my list, I start browsing the stores. I do a lot of shopping online, because of my geographic location (Michigan is NOT New York. That being said there are a few good boutiques, but that is a subject for a different post ).

At that point I usually make my husband REALLY nervous, because at any given moment I will have at least ten web pages open with clothes, shoes and accessories…

When I choose my must have’s I focus on clothes and accessories that will complement my existing wardrobe. If it’s a trend that I think will be a one-season-kind-of-trend (like: neon, camouflage, military)  than I buy one item and I try to keep it on the lower part of the budget.

so, here it is:
