The MUST list

It’s March and I¬†can almost see Spring on¬†the horizon! Every magazine and store is¬†filled with lovely Spring clothes, shoes and bags with¬†fun prints and bright colors.

Here in Michigan it’s still very cold and snowing, and my Bump is as big as big can be. As its¬†getting closer to my due date, this¬†WON’T stop me from thinking about my Spring closet post-baby. So, here it is, my wish list for my closet:

must all

  1. Nanette Lepore One Piece Swimsuit
  2. Tibi embroidered silk-faille top
  3. AG 19 Years break me down skinny jeans
  4.  J Crew necklace
  5. Illesteva sunglasses
  6. Valentino Rockstud PVC thong sandal
  7. MARC BY MARC JACOBS Luna studded bucket shoulder bag

February

February is the shortest longest month of the year. Snow storm after snow storm here and the sun nowhere to be seen. The best way to cheer up, in my opinion, is to think about all the lovely things you will do when the warmer days arrive: go for an outdoor run, buy fresh flowers and wear bright cloths.

Here are 5 things that made me happy this past week.

all

  1. New Balance Classics
  2. J Crew Tortoise Wildflower Cuff
  3. Chocolate-Hazelnut Snowballs
  4. Painted Wooden Vases
  5. Suede Zip Pouch

Going some place warm?

End of January is the perfect time to think and plan a warm getaway. I can’t go anywhere, so I’m busy dreaming of warm weather and Pina Colada at the beach.

Here are my ideas for a stylish beach vacation!

Cheers 2015!

I hope you had a great time last night surrounded by your beloved ones. 2014 was an amazing year here at Peonies and Caramel. I learned so much from working on each and every post and I loved seeing your likes and reading your comments.

2015 is going to be an exciting year for me as I’m preparing for the arrival of our new baby boy in March while¬†continuing to work hard on the blog to bring you new and original content.¬†Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey.

Have a fabulous year!

Festive attire

It’s the last few days of 2014 so, it’s time to think about festive attire. There will be dinners, parties and work related gatherings requiring attire suitable for the occasion.

This is my first planned outfit for the week. Festive but not too much, glitzy but not too sparkly. The knee high boots are the classic 5050 boot by Stuart Wietzman. They were my splurge buy this winter along with this beautiful metallic sweater by Maje (on sale now). The boots are just so comfortable. I wear them day and night and they just add that Chic factor to any outfit.

Midnight Blue

On Monday my sweet daughter inquired ¬†about my favorite color. I actually had to stop and think about this, there was no obvious answer! Nothing jumped out right away. She obviously thought it was odd since she immediately replayed that her’s are purple and pink – surprise, surprise.

So, I thought some more and realized my favorite colors are (once again, surprise, surprise!) gray and blue. Needless to say she DID NOT like my answer. I tried to explain to her that when you grow up your taste changes and that I liked purple once too. She just looked at me and walked away.

This is my favorite blue outfit that works really well with the bump. The dress is by Vince and was purchased three years ago. I always wear it as a tunic with a vest or a chunky sweater for a more boho-chic look. Try something bold and wintery over a sleek dress today…you might love it and you¬†will¬†look chic.

Grayish

Gray is definitely one of my favorite colors. No matter the occasion or the season Gray is always in. Now that I’m expecting baby no.3 ¬†I’m desperate to incorporate my favorite cloths with my growing bump.

This is a perfect example: some of my favorite pieces pair well with new items suitable for a bump. As always, I incorporate the main stream with the high end, and Zara is my go-to store to do it. The vest and the sweater dress are in stores now and are perfect for Fall/Winter.

These photos were taken just a few weeks ago, now it’s all about snow, snow and some more snow.

The Perfect Wardrobe – Part 2

I can’t resist posting another example of one of my favorite outfits using the usual suspects. The only new item in this outfit is a pair of fabulous earrings which I purchased last April. The faux leather leggings I’m wearing are¬†Club Monaco¬†(this pair is 3 years old). I love them so much that I own three pairs! They are super comfortable, look amazing day or night, and look like the real deal! They cost only 149$ and not 700$ and are machine washable.

My Maje coat, the beaded tunic and Mulberry bag were purchased in Paris two years ago. They were all great buys during the after-Christmas sales. You must check out Maje: it is definitely one of my favorite brands! Their cloths are well made and add a major WOW factor to any outfit. I wear this look in the Spring and in the Fall. You can never go wrong with black!

Urban Beach

I can’t believe August is almost over. Because we had such a cold, cold winter things didn’t really got hot until July – and now it’s about to end! So…this post is one more of my favorite Summer looks before we move on to talk about Fall colors and chunky sweaters.

This outfit is another great combination between old and new. Maje is a French brand I discovered when I went to Paris last year. Contemporary and chic with¬†amazing fabrics. This simple tee is everything but simple. My shorts are by Equipment purchased this Spring. They are named “the pajama shorts”. 100% silk and the most comfortable thing I own. By far one of my best buys. My bag is by British designer Mulberry – the ultimate urban bag! With leather so soft I just fell in love with that brown color. The shoes are Reva flats by Tory Burch. What can I say… I love these shoes. I have them in three¬†other colors, and they are my always trusted flats for day or night.

Bye, Bye Summer. It was nice having you.

Summer Breeze

Finding that perfect summer outfit, the one that you wear all the time because it’s comfortable during hot summer days, is not always easy. It’s kind of funny that I’m thinking about my perfect summer outfit while it’s been pouring rain here in Michigan the last few days…

My perfect outfit is a good pair of shorts, a flowey top, nice pair of sandals/espadrilles/flats and my favorite sunglasses. It’s an outfit that looks good for day and a casual evening out, and most important – comfortable!

The outfit below is the perfect mix of old and new: the blouse is by Equipment (my ultimate brand for everything silk and/or blousy) purchased 3 years ago at Bloomingdale’s, the chambray shorts are from J Crew purchased this year, the sandals are Stuart Weitzman purchased 2 years ago and the Valentino bag was a gift I received just a few months ago. Since I constantly edit my wardrobe it is very easy for me to mix and match and to reuse items over the years. The satisfaction is higher knowing they were great buys. This is by far one of my favorite looks!

Enjoy the last days of Summer because as they say “Winter is coming!”
