Shades of Gray

I love the first ¬†days of September. The breeze is starting to pick up and the sun is still out, but the days are cooler and big sweaters come to mind. So, naturally, it’s time for some Fall inspiration…

I LOVE gray. There is something about that color that attracts me no matter the season or the occasion. It always looks good with every color, and the fabrics just have depths to them that makes every outfit extraordinary. Naturally, during the Fall and Winter months it seems as if I’m wearing a uniform…but, I just can’t get enough!

The items below are all fresh for Fall from my “usual suspects” and new friends that I would like to own. Take a look at the links below for where to buy.

Happy Fall!

Something White, something Red, something Blue

4th of July is here. In between running around with the girls from one activity to another,¬†the holiday just arrived.¬† I can’t believe how fast summer is going. It’s the time of year of going from¬†one BBQ to another, from the beach to the pool.

I know the web is full of 4th of July idea boards, but still I¬†had to create my own chic version for¬†the long weekend.¬†I just love Prada’s take on the stud trend. The shoes are subtle and cool, and the sunglasses are just pure fun! J Brand always offer the most beautiful minimalist garments that just look and feel fabulous. The jeans with the camisole, shoes, sunglasses and clutch just make the perfect outfit. ¬†Effortless chic for the Holiday weekend! I found the recipes at MarthaStewart.com and I can hardly wait and try them out.

Eat, drink, be happy and safe!
XOXO,
Shani

The perfect fit – 5 different ways

Finding that perfect jeans is a tricky task. You want your jeans to not only  feel and look good, but to take your body to the next level. That pretty much sums up how I feel about my J Brand jeans. I love them so much I bought a pair in almost every style they have. I love J Brand because they always fit the same, no matter which cut or material. I love the fact that they feel like second skin. I have five pairs with different fabrics and in different styles and yet the size and feel are exactly the same. That, to me, is what makes them so perfect.

They are my “go to” jeans/pants that work year round wherever I go. I can say that they are part of my wardrobe foundation. Wearing a good looking jeans and a white T, well, really, what else do you need?

Winter Additions

By now, Winter is in full throttle, and it’s time to wrap up this season’s shopping. Now before I start working on my Spring/Summer wardrobe, I want to share with you the latest additions to my closet. Unlike at the beginning of the season when I search and shop from my “Must Have” list, these buys are a bit more random – if I like it, I buy it!

All of the items below have become my favorites, go-to items during these cold winter months. They are comfy, timeless and fun. I wear them day and night, dress them up and down. All of them were great buys.

What are your favorite items for winter?

My fall “must have” list

Every year in August I start to plan my fall wardrobe. The reason I start this post with that declaration is because I am not a random shopper.

I buy all the fashion magazines, I surf the web and I comprise a “must have” list of fall essentials. After I have my list, I start browsing the stores. I do a lot of shopping online, because of my geographic location (Michigan is NOT New York. That being said there are a few good boutiques, but that is a subject for a different post ).

At that point I usually make my husband REALLY nervous, because at any given moment I will have at least ten web pages open with clothes, shoes and accessories…

When I choose my must have’s I focus on clothes and accessories that will complement my existing wardrobe. If it’s a trend that I think will be a one-season-kind-of-trend (like: neon, camouflage, military) ¬†than I buy one item and I try to keep it on the lower part of the budget.

so, here it is:
